Cameras set to roll in for Operation Transformation

-

AS the RTÉ hit Operation Transformation concludes in Dublin’s Phoenix Park, the broadcaster’s cameras will pay a visit to four parkrun locations – and Killarney will be one of these.

Whether you prefer running, jogging, strolling or walking, organisers have said they’d love for everyone to join them in the town this Saturday, February 18.

A 9.15am briefing will take place before the runners depart at 9.30am, and all you need to do before that is register.

You can do this at www.parkrun.ie/register; just print out the personal barcode you receive, and bring it along with you on Saturday, and each Saturday thereafter.

A lovely event from a social point of view, the runners are known to join up for a chat and a coffee afterwards at Muckross Garden Restaurant.

Those behind Parkrun are always looking for volunteers - in fact, the entire initiative relies on the spirit of helpfulness. Therefore, they would be more than happy if people came along to help out on Saturdays.

Participants are advised to allow themselves plenty time to park up beforehand. Killarney parkrun’s starting point is within Muckross House Car Park, opposite the Muckross Traditional Farms.

If you’re on babysitting duties, feel free to bring the buggy along with you – or, if you want to bring your dog for a walk, organisers have no problem with one four legged friend coming along with you.

So long as they’re kept on a short lead!
