From rags to the runway, Kerry stylists and models help launch fashion show
BALLYROE Heights Hotel is set to be the scene of a very unique fashion show in the coming weeks as the hotel prepares to host the aptly titled ‘Rags to the Runway’ charity night.
For anyone with a special interest in the weird and wonderful treasures that can be found hidden away in local charity shops, this event will certainly be right up your alley as all the clothes from the night will be taken directly a number of such shops from all around Kerry.
What makes this a fashion show that will just be that little bit more special however is the way that the outfits that you will see on the catwalk on the night, are put together; eight Kerry stylists have been given the task of creating a five outfit collection, all of which must come from local charity shops.
The looks will be then be worn by a number of professional models and the audience on the night will be asked to vote for what they consider to be the best collection, but they will not in fact know who is behind the collection; all clothes from the night will then be put on sale after the show.
All profits made on the night from the show will then be going towards a number of shops including the Adapt Kerry Charity Shop, Sue Ryder Foundation, SVP Tralee, Enable Ireland Tralee, NCBI Edward Street Tralee, the Irish Cancer Society and Kingdom Care in Tralee.
The stylists and others taking part in the show on the night will consist of Claire Murphy (Xpose), Danny Leane (Annbury’s), Eileen Whelan (Paco), Anie Wall, Rebecca Kemp, Orlaith Winters, Jill Hannon and Laura McSweeney.
The evening will consist of a champagne reception and after party and tickets are set to cost €20 and are available to purchase from any of the charity shops mentioned previously.
