Plenty of talent at Community Games finals

THE Talent County Finals competitions took place at the weekend in Abbeydorney and Keel. RECITATION U-12 & 16 The County Finals of our Recitation competition took place on Friday last in Abbeydorney. Well done to all our competitors who kept everyone enthralled with their recitations. Many thanks to co-ordinator Patsy and adjudicators who had the difficult job of deciding placings in a competition where the standard was of a very high level.

Maisie Hall (Castlegregory) MUSIC U-12 & 16 The County Finals of our Music competition took place in Keel on Saturday and again we were treated to a wonderful array of music and top entertainment for four hours by our young participants. Well done to all our participants and congratulations to our winners.

Results: U-12 Solo Music: 1. Michael Healy (Kilcummin); 2. Emmett Daly (Valentia); 3. Yvonne Daly (Kenmare). U-16 Music Solo: 1. Clodagh Murphy (Listowel); 2. Shane Madden (Ballydonoghue/ Lisselton); 3. Lucy Daly (Kenmare) & Kirill Healy (Kilcummin). Group Music: U-12: 1. Milltown/Listry; 2. Blennerville/Ballyard; 3. Glenflesk. Group Music U-16: 1. Fossa; 2. Ballydonoghue/Lisselton; 3. Keel/ Kiltalagh. SINGING U-12 & 16 The County Finals of our Singing competition took place in Abbeydorney and as usual this was a large competition with plenty of talent on stage. We had 27 solo singers and 14 groups performed. Many thanks for the O’Neill family Ballydonoghue who organised this competition.

Lilian Foley (Killarney South); 3. Orlaith Mahony (Ballydonoghue/Lisselton). Group Singing U-12: 1. Dromid/ Caherdanial; 2. Blennerville/Ballyard; 3. Ballymacelligott. Group Singing U-16: 1. Killarney South; 2. Blennerville/Ballyard; 3. Ardfert/ Kilmoyley.

Well done to all our participants who took part in our Talent competitions over the weekend, especially to our very young competitors and those children new to performing before an audience.

We wish our winners every good wish when they compete at Nationals and we hope to see our others participants back next year or in another competition this year.
