TIDY TOWNS
Killorglin Tidy Towns Committee and Crew are in urgent need of volunteers if we are going to climb to medal success this year. There are so many groups and organisations in this town, by the way far too many to name. But if we all pooled our resources and gave only a few voluntary hours back to this vibrant town by the Laune maybe perhaps we could get a handle on all the illegial dumping thats taking place under our nose.
Take a look around you and especially on all the approach roads leading into town. It is a disgrace and everyone needs to pay attention and if by chance you are reading this and are a dumper SHAME ON YOU.
Please if you see rubbish being dumped illegally PLEASE PLEASE take out your phone and take a picture, this is the only way we can stop this behavior. There are on the spot fines which are followed up by the council. Also you can log onto wwwfixmyarea.ie and follow the instructions, please include a photo.
Killorglin Tidy Towns will hold their Annual AGM in O’Grady’s Bar, on Thursday February 23rd at 8pm. If you would like to bring a particular issue to the notice of our committee group, we would appreciate if you could get in touch and we will make every effort to add same to the Agenda.
We meet every Saturday morning, 10 am at the monument in the Fairfield for c. 2 hours to clean, plant, paint and enjoy the great outdoors !! We would be delighted if you had a spare hour to help out! Most of our volunteers, work on particular projects and get involved at times of the year that suit their own commitments.
Do you have a special gift or talent and bursting to get involved in the community, please don’t hesitate to come along and introduce yourself to anyone of the committee. We too are all VOLUNTEERS giving of our time to better our town. You are welcome to join us any Saturday morning - old friends and new always welcome! Come along with whatever cleaning tools you have at home. Gloves, brushes, shovels, pickers, weed scrapers, and most importantly a good smile. Tell your friends and neighbours perhaps they too might like to come along. Continue to follow us on facebook & twitter for the latest and upcoming work being done in your area.
