‘Thanks to KPFA for help in Michelle’s huge weight loss’

-

FOLLOWING last week’s article on the amazing weight loss by Killarney woman Michelle O’Leary – eight stone eight pounds to be precise – her sister Kathleen Keating would like to thank the efforts of the many souls who helped Michelle on her eight year weight loss journey.

“Michelle’s amazing results were not only down to her pure determination but to the support received from the staff of Kerry Parents and Friends Association in the Old Monastery, Port Road, Killarney,” Kathleen states.

“Every Tuesday, over her eight-year weight loss journey, I would drop Michelle to Weight Watchers in the KDYS and on my way to work, I would be met by Fiona or Breda or another staff member from KPFA. They would take her into the Weight Watchers meeting and a bus from the Old Monastery would then collect them from Weight Watchers to take Michelle back for her day’s ‘work’.

“She also received help with her meal choices in the Old Monastery and was helped and supported with an exercise plan geared to her ability.

“Michelle now enjoys the Zumba classes run in the Old Monastery and is much more active than she was before her epic journey. I cannot praise the staff of KPFA enough and we are forever in their debt. “I would also ask people to please support the Buy a Bus for KPFA campaign because, without this service, Michelle would not have been able to attend Weight Watchers and achieve her amazing results,” Kathleen added. Well done to all.
