Ladies county football league fixtures back on this weekend after washout due to weather

- Dan Kearney

RHYNO QUALITY FEEDS COUNTY SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUES

LAST weekend was a washout across the board in the Rhyno Quality Feeds Senior leagues and it was very disappointing for most sides as they would have geared themselves up to play, but unfortunately the weather had different ideas and everything had to be put off. Instead the fixtures will take place next weekend.

The deferred Round 1 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds Senior County Leagues will throw in on next Sunday, March 12 at 12 noon and there are games in all 4 Divisions. First named team has home advantage. Please note that teams must play their games without their inter-county minor and senior players.

Rathmore (bye) Division 2 John Mitchels v Kilcummin Scar taglin v Corca Dhuibhne Na Gaeil (bye) Division 3 Austin Stacks v Milltown/Listry Spa v Causeway Legion v Currow Laune Rangers (bye) Division 4 Fossa v Abbeydorney Annascaul/Castlegregory v Ballymac Beale v St Pats Blennerville Cromane v Firies Glenflesk v Clounmacon/Moyvane Dingle (bye)

NATIONAL CONGRESS

Kerry Ladies Chairman Maurice MacNamara made the long journey to Donegal last weekend when he represented Kerry at the Ladies National Congress.

One of the more interesting motions that was carried was that “the referee will have the power to over-rule a match official and give final scores. The referee may be assisted in determining scores by any scoring device as approved by Central Council”.

This effectively opens the door for a TMO or Hawkeye situation to be used in ladies football.

HEC FINALS

The HEC Third level finals will take place next weekend in Mayo. There will be a number of Kerry players involved in the competition and Kerry Ladies Football wishes them the best of luck over the weekend. We will have updates via Facebook and Twitter during the competitions and the O’Connor Cup final will be broadcast live on TG4 from McHale Park, Castlebar.
