DEATHS

The death occurred of Cornelius (Neily) Mitchell, Gortshanaf­a, Currow (suddenly) at his home.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Eileen, daughters, son, extended family, and many friends and neighbours. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

The death occurred of Patrick O’Connor, Mount, Scartaglen. Deepest sympathy is extended to his family, extended family, neighbours and many friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

The death has occcurred of John A Tony Fleming, Chapel and Currow village after a long illness fought bravely. Tony was the pillar of the community at Currow. He was an agricultur­al contractor, farmer and pedigree friesan cattle breeder. A personal friend. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Max, daughters Elizabeth, Maura, Eimer; sister Maye Kinnane, grandchild­ren, sons, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace in St Michael’s.

CASTLEISLA­ND PARISH

Special Mass in Castleisla­nd Parish Church at 7pm on Tuesday, March 14 to celebrate Fatima Centenary 2017.

There will be a 12 hour Eucharisti­c Adoration on Fridaym, March 31 from 8am to 8pm in Castleisla­nd Parish Church.

KILLEENTIE­RNA YOTH CLUB

On Friday night last March 3rd 52 Members travelled to Bowling Alley in Tralee for a Bowling night, and a great night was had by all. Leaders Moss Leane, Fiona Nelligan McGuire, Rachel O’Connor, Amy Galwey and Erin O’Connor were in charge.On Saturday last March 4th our U15 Boys and Girls Indoor Soccer Teams took part in the Youth Club’s County Finals in the John Mitchells Complex in Tralee. The Competitio­n was played in a Round Robin Format with our girls having a 2-0 win over St Senans, drawing 1-1 with Fossa and going down 1-0 to Lixnaw which saw them finish 2nd in the Competitio­n. Our U15 Girls Team was Gracie Daly, Cait O’Mahony, Ciara Fitzgerald, Emma O’Regan and Aine Sheehan. In the Boys Competitio­n we had 0-0 draws with Ballylongf­ord and Castlegreg­ory, and beat Fossa 2-1 and Lixnaw 1-0, and after all the games there was a tie on points and our Lads lost out on first place and a Place in the Munster Finals on Goal Difference.

Our U15 Boys Team was Padraig Hilliard, David Moriarty, Jack Moriarty, Gearoid Coffey, Connie O’Connor and Jason Brennan. Leaders Sorcha O’Connor and Moss Leane coached the Teams.

On this Friday March 10th the Club will be attending the Cordal Youth Club’s Disco in the Cordal Gaa Hall. The Bus will leave Currow at 7.45 and Garvey’s in Castleisla­nd at 8 O’Clock. The Disco will start at 8.30 p.m. The Bus will return to Den Joe’s in Castleisla­nd at 11.20 approx and to Currow at 12 Midnight approx. The Cost of the Bus will be €4 and entry to the Disco will be €5. Members wanting to go on the bus need to give their names to a Club Leader or post it on the Club’s Web Page or Face Book page by Wednesday next March 8th. Members who are getting their own drive to the Disco need to have a signed Parental Concent Form which can be downloaded from the Web Site Killeentie­rnayc.com, or a Note signed by a Parent, or else they wont be able to get into the Disco.

The Club would like extend our sympathy to the Daly Family on the recent death of our former Member Aidan at a young age. Aidan was quite unassumimg fellow who had a good word for everyone and he will be greatly missed by everyone. We would also like to extend our Sympathy to our Former Leader Elaine Mitchell and her Family, on the recent death of her Father Neilie.

CURROW GAA MEETING

A meeting of Currow GAA Club will be held on this Friday, March 10 at 8.30pm in the clubrooms.
