DEATH

Hannah (Hannie) Courtney of South View Terrace died peacefully in “Tir Na nOg” nursing home Kenmare on Wednesday February 22nd. Her remains were removed from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home to St Finian’s Church on Thursday evening and she was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery after 11 a.m. Mass celebrated by Fr Gerard Finucane P.P. on Friday. Doreen Sheehan sang at Mass. Hannie is survived by her brother Sean, her late brother Donal’s wife Breda (nee Daly), nephews, nieces, Courtney and O’ Sullivan cousins, neighbours and friends to whom we offer our sincere sympathy. CHARITY CYCLE

A cycle will take place on Sunday 19th March in memory of John O Shea, starting and finishing in Dromod. There will be 2 distances, 45k and 70k. All money raised will go to the Charity” The Irish Pilgrimage Trust Group 135” who take children with special needs to Lourdes at Easter.

- There will be another HACCP course in March on a Saturday, date to be confirmed. This would be ideal for anyone intending working in the catering/hospitalit­y sector during the summer. Low Level Walks Guide Training will be conducted in Kerry by the Irish Heart Foundation. This training will take place the weekend of May 27th and 28th and will cost participan­ts €50. This will cover lunch on both days and any training materials. The course will allow participan­ts lead walks on Waymarked ways, looped walks and Slí na Sláinte routes.
