Muscle therapy and much more on view in open day at the KCFE

-

BUSLOADS of secondary students from right across the county poured into Kerry College of Further Education (KCFE) on Thursday morning to learn more about the great range of courses they could avail of there after completing the Leaving Cert.

It was one of two big events at the college last week, including the school’s first-ever evening for parents of school leavers again attended in large numbers in another successful event for the college.

“Our Open Day was by far the most well attended one we have ever held. Most secondary schools in the county supported the event with bus loads of school leavers arriving throughout the day to learn all about the exciting range of options, view the facilities and explore the workshops,” Mary Murphy of the KCFE said.

Ms Murphy said the level of interest likely indicates a growth in demand for post-leaving cert courses in Kerry now: “Overall we can safely say that hundreds passed through in what was a day that evidenced massive demand for post leaving cert courses in Kerry.”

Meanwhile, the college was similarly thrilled with the parents’ information evening.

“Feedback from parents was very positive, impressed with the range of programmes on offer. They very much appreciated being informed of how the further education programmes here at KCFE can allow students to access very high point courses in Universities and Institutes,” Ms Murphy said.
