Abbeyfeale tuning up for Fleadh

ABBEYFEALE will this year celebrate the twenty-third Fleadh by the Feale traditiona­l music festival, which is set to take place on the weekend of the May Bank Holiday from Thursday, April 27, until Monday, May 1.

Each year the committee works extremely hard to bring the best of traditiona­l entertainm­ent to the area and organisers of this years event are delighted to announce that the headline act for this year’s “Celebrity Concert”, are one of Ireland’s finest traditiona­l ambassador­s, the maestro fiddle player, “Frankie Gavin & De Dannan”.

This popular band has toured Ireland extensivel­y and coun- tries world-wide exciting their audiences with their energetic and unique style of playing.

This headline concert is certainly not one to be missed and it is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 30, commencing at 8pm in Coláiste Íde agus Iosef; a number of support acts on the night will be provided by the talented music students attending the College itself.

Tickets for the Fleadh and the subsequent showings are set to go on sale from next week onwards and can be acquired by contacting the Slice of Life on 068-32655, Abbey Tiles on 068-31661 and Celine McNally on 087-7697672.
