Successful blitz in Valentia

- Barry Clifford

CUMANN na mBunscol Ciarraí Theas held its annual Allianz Mini Seven blitz on March 22 in Valentia and Filemore.

It was a very enjoyable day for all ten schools involved with many close and exciting contests. The skill level shown by the boys and girls was of a high standard and it was very evident that a huge effort is being made in coaching at school level.

Girls Semi-final: Coars/Filemore v Scoil and Ghleanna/ScoilMhichil Ballinskelligs, St. Finian’s Waterville v Aghatubrid. Scoil an Ghleanna/Scoil Mhichil played out a most entertaining final with St. Finian’s coming out as winners.

Boys Semi-final: Coars/Filemore v Valentia and Scoil Saidhbhín v Aghatubrid. Following on from their success in the Cumann namBunscol 4/5-teacher competition, Aghatubrid won the Allianze Mini Sevens final with a victory over a very talented Valentia team.

We would like to wish Aghatubrid Boys and St. Finian’s Girls the very best of luck in the upcoming finals.
