MASTERGEEHA FC

U11 Mastergeeha v Killarney Athletic. On Saturday Mastergeeha played two game against our near neighbours. Both sides won a game each with Emmett Spillane, Danny Coffey and Gavin Barry scoring for Mastergeeha. All involved did well.

U13 Mastergeeha 2 Iveragh 1. In this close game Mastergeeha had to battle all the way to get the three points. Mastergeeha took the lead mid-way through the first half when Colin O Leary finished off a good move. However just before the break the visitors equalised. In the second half Mastergeeha pushed forward and took the lead with 15 minutes remaining after Donnagh Faly was fouled and Mark O Shea converted the penalty. After this the boys defended well with Oisin O’Leary making some good save to ensure the three points.

U15 Cup Ballyhar 3 Mastergeeha 1. The final score flattered the hosts somewhat as this was a more even contest throughout with the lads competing well against promotion chasing Ballyhar. A 2 min purple patch midway through the 1st half when Ballyhar scored 2 quick goals put them in the driving seat but the lads replied before the break when Philip O’Leary volleyed home after great wing play from Cian Dineen. Nathan McCarthy also went close.

The home side struck again early in the 2nd half and although Geeha kept pressing to try and get back in the game they couldn’t make the breakthrough. All played well.

GREYHOUND BAR CUP REPLAY Mastergeeha 1 Strand Road 3. In this contest the seniors started well and lead at the break thanks to a goal from Eoin Horan. However early in the second half the visitors equalised. After this both sides created chances and Strand Road took the lead with 15 minutes remaining. For the remainder of the game the seniors pushed forward but could not the get an equaliser with the visitors scoring on the break in the final minutes.

U17 Mastergeeha 1 Park 2. In this game the boys started well and took the lead when Dylan Murphy finished well. However the visitors scored two goals in quick succession. After this Mastergeeha created the better chances with Paul O Shea and Anthony Darmody hitting the crossbar, and Jamie O Shea going close. In the second half Mastergeeha defended well and created some good chances with James Lynch, Jamie O Shea and Dylan Murphy all going close. However the boys could not get the equaliser they deserved.

FAI JUNIOR CUP SEMI FINAL Kilbrean Park has been selected to host the semi-final of this year Junior Cup on Saturday 8th April between Killarney Celtic and Sherriff. It is great honour to stage this semi-final of a National competition.
