DEATH

John (Seano) O’ Shea of Tullig died peacefully in Ashborough Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday March 18Th. His remains were removed from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home to St Finian’s Church on Sunday evening. Fr Gerard Finucane P.P. celebrated his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday and he was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Marion O’ Neill sang and played at his Mass. Sincere sympathy to his brother Raymond, sister Mary O’ Sullivan (Killorglin) nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Suaimhneas siorai da anam dilis.

CYCLE

A large group took part in the Charity Cycle in memory of John Shea, Farranahow­n on Sunday 19th March. All proceeds go to Group 135 Kerry: Irish Pilgrimage Trust who bring children to Lourdes annually, a group John was very involved with for many years. Gura mile maith agaibh go leir.

Congratula­tions to the girls of St. Finian’s national school who won the South Kerry Cumann na mBuinscoil mini 7s for the third year in a row. This is a great achievemen­t and we wish them well as they go forward to the county finals In Fitzgerald Stadium where they will defend their county title which they have won for the past two years. Team as follows: Joni Curran, Leah Dwyer, Holly Galvin, Leanne O’ Sullivan (captain) Lauren Curran, Aoife Dwyer, Sarah Murphy, Maddie Courtney, Clionadh O’ Shea and Clodagh Dwyer.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Rachel Dwyer (daughter to Denis and Michelle) who captained the Kerry U-14 girls football team to a great victory over Cork in the Munster championsh­ip. The game took place in Ballyvourn­ey on the 18th March and Rachel played a captains role and controlled matters around the middle of the field setting up vital scores as well as contributi­ng two points of her own. We all extend our best wishes to her and her teammates for the rest of the championsh­ips.

Low Level Walks Guide Training will be conducted in Kerry by the Irish Heart Foundation
