Fit4Life is starting in Beaufort on Monday the 3rd April at 7pm. Registration takes place at the church carpark. This is an 8 week program aimed at anyone interested in taking up running. It is open to both men and women aged 16 upwards. It will be run 3 nights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays @ 7.30pm. If you are a beginner or want to get back into running, then this program is ideal for you. It consists of a run/walk strategy which will see you able to complete a 5k by the end of week 8. There is a once off cost of 30Euro for adults - registration fee with Star of the Laune AC.
KERRY ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP The county championship road race took place in Beaufort last Sunday, on what was a beautiful sunny day. First male home in this 5k race was Tim o’ Connor An Riocht, and the first female was Shona Heaslip also from an Riocht. 63 participants took part, representing most of the clubs in the county. We had 7 members taking part and plenty of medals were won to show for a good days racing. Well done to Thomas Bubendorfer 2nd 045, Sean Murphy, Stephen Griffin, Gillian Murphy, Anne Mangan 1st o55, Susanne Foley 2nd Novice and Vivian Juffs 3rd o45. The ladies also won the 3rd team overall. Special thanks to all the people who put in the work to make this event happen, thanks to the people at registration, the stewards, marshalls, timekeepers and the tea & sandwich makers
ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Munster Road Championships will be held in Currow on Sunday 9th April @1.30pm. This is a 4 mile race. Best of luck to all our club members taking part.
PUCK WARRIORS DUATHLON
The 3rd and final race in this series took place last Saturday. This race consisted of a 5k run, a 15k cycle and finished with another 5k run. Congratulations to Kerry Eager who was 2nd female and to Vivian Juffs who was 6th.
GLOUNAGUILLAGH NS 5K/10K
Glounaguillagh National School are holding their annual fundraiser 5k & 10k on Sunday April 2nd in Caragh Lake. There is also a 1k run for kids. Registration takes place between 10.30am and 11.30am at the school with the race starting at 12pm. Refreshments served afterwards and there are medals for all participants. IASC OG 5K/10K This annual fun run/walk will be taking place on Sunday 9th April at 1.30pm. Registration is at Iasc Og Pre-School, The Lake Road ,Cromane. 10k starts at 1.30, 5k at 2pm and this event also incudes a 1k for children at 1.35pm TRAINING Juvenile training takes place every Saturday at the Dragons Den Killorglin from 11am to 12pm.
