Fiachne Day Centre ~ enabling individuals to realise their maximum potential in life
FIACHNE Day Centre - a HSE Community Healthcare facility - is a Mental Health Day Centre located in Kenmare Community Hospital.
The philosophy of care at the centre is to enable individuals to realise their maximum potential in life and to be an active participant in their own community. This is accomplished in a caring person-centred environment that addresses the individual holistic needs of the people using the centre and the needs of their families and carers.
It is one of three day centres in the South Kerry Mental Health Services. It is staffed by a Clinical Nurse Manager, with ongoing support and interventions with all members of our South Kerry Multi-Disciplinary Team. The team includes Consultant Psychiatrist, Registrar, Senior House Officer, Community Mental Health Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker and Occupational Therapist. Tutors from Kenmare Adult Education Centre also contribute greatly to the service.
The centre is HSE-funded, and Kenmare Mental Health Association help fund some of the activities on-site. Staff at the centre work alongside local GPs and Public Health Nurses in providing care.
