Storystock has E.I in its corner

STORYSTOCK.COM, a media tech company based in the Tom Crean Centre in the Kerry Technology Park, has been selected as one of only 15 companies nationally to receive support under the Competitive Start Funding programme operated by Enterprise Ireland.

StoryStock fended off tough competition from around the country with 250 firms seeking state aid as part of the initiative and they are the only Kerry Company in this round to be awarded the funding.

StoryStock has just completed the Enterprise Ireland Funded New Frontiers Programme at IT Tralee.

StoryStocks Francis Fitzgibbon described it as a good day for the StoryStock team,

“We have put a lot of work into this process and were over the moon when selected as the only Kerry company to qualify under the national Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund,” said Mr Fitzgibbon.

“We are extremely grateful to everyone in the Tralee IT who run the Enterprise Ireland New Frontiers programme for their support and help during the past six months,” said Francis.

“We are also grateful to regional Enterprise Ireland Representative Jerry Moloney, the Kerry Local Enterprise Office and the countless number of Kerry companies who advised and helped us on this journey,” he said.

“It is great to see an entrepreneurial spirit alive and well in Kerry. Our sole focus now is getting our platform ready for market as soon as we possibly can,” said Francis

The StoryStock team has grown to five and the company’s aim is to build a global community of journalists and content creators who upload stories about people from all over the world to StoryStock.com.

The company then licenses these stories to media and brands all around the world.

The Competitive Start Fund is part of Enterprise Ireland’s strategy for increasing the number and quality of high potential start-up companies. These are companies that the agency believes have the potential to employ more than 10 people and achieve €1 million in export sales within the next three years.
