The death has taken place of Fr John Lucid PP, Kilcummin and Castleisland. Fr John served as curate in Firies for three years. Sympathy is extended to his brothers, relatives and friends. Sympathy is also extended to Kathleen Kerins and family, Clounlara on the death of her father, John P Randles, Kilgarvan. Sympathy is extended to Dora Campbell and family, Scairt, Farranfore on the death of her father, John Galvin, Muckross Road, Killarney; and to the family, relatives and friends of Jamie Daly, Chicago and late of Knockanoulart, Ballyhar.

Congratulations to Jer O’Sullivan (Lisheenacanna) who received the Senior Payer of The Year at the New York GAA Banquet on Sat night last. Jer is one of the goalkeepers on the NY team in the Connacht Championship this year.

Athletic training has commenced on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm for children from 1st to 6th class; Thursdays from 6.45 to 7.45pm for 5th, 6th classes and secondary school pupils.

TEAMS - On Thursday last our U14s travelled to tralee to play Park B in the quarter final of the Tom Hayes shield.After a game that went to extra time our boys were victorious on an 8 - 4 scoreline with the game being tied at 3-3 on full time.goal scorers were John Power,Bryan Burke,Peter Cosgrave & Aaron o Shea with Christopher Palmer,Cormac Costello,Michael Brosnan & Dillon Butler turning in excellent performances.well done to both sides for serving up an entertaining game.

On Saturday last our U16s qualified for the semi final of the Tucker Kelly Shield by virtue of an excellent 3-2 away win over Asdee Rovers.Patrick o Connor,Jason Brennan & Craig o Sullivan hitting the back of the net for Ballyhar while Conor o Sullivan,Danny Cronin,Liam Moloney & Jack Duggan put their bodies on the line for the glory of the club.
