GATHERING OF THE KINGS

A gathering of the King Clan will happen here in Ballinskelligs over the June Bank Holiday, from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th June 2017. Coiste Forbartha na Sceilge are assisting the Gathering in helping to identify local King Families or those who have descended from King Families. If your surname is King or are a King descendent or would like to get involved in the Gathering in some way, please contact the Hall Pobail at 066 9479111 for details.

ANNUAL CHARITY CYCLE

Just to say a big Thank You to everyone who participated this year we were delighted with the amount of people who chose to run walk or cycle this year, also Thank You to those who assisted in any way with the running of the event on the day! The grand total raised was €985 and will be divided between the two charities, Ballinskelligs Community Care and Ballinskelligs Inshore Rescue.

BAKE SALE

Thank you to everyone who baked the beautiful cakes for our bake sale on Easter Sunday and also to those who bought tickets for our raffle.

HERITAGE CENTRE

Coiste Forbartha na Sceilge plan to create a Heritage Centre in the Barracks in Dungeagan. We therefore invite the public to donate any manuscripts, documents photographs or any other relevant artifacts to enable us to develop the Heritage Centre. Where possible items will be copied and originals returned to owner.

Items can be dropped into the Community Centre Dungeagan. Phone 066 9479111.

WALKS TRAINING

Low Level Walks Guide Training will be conducted in Kerry by the Irish Heart Foundation. This training will take place the weekend of May 27th and 28th and will cost participants €50. This will cover lunch on both days and any training materials. The course will allow participants lead walks on Waymarked ways, looped walks and Slí na Sláinte routes. Further Information 066 9474888.
