The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
KILLORGLIN
ACTIVE RETIRED NEWS
Active is the right word for Killorglin ladies! They are gallivanting every second day! On Friday last, Eileen McGillycuddy won 3rd Prize in the Radio Kerry Quinlans Fish and Chips competition, with a special Quinlans Fish and Chip lunch the prize! So, lo and behold, after their meeting on Friday last week, 12 ladies marched up to Quinlans, where all the tables were beautifully laid out and service was excellent. Well done Eileen and many thanks.
On Sunday last, 23 April, Killorglin Active Retired took up an invitation from the Cahersiveen Social Services, Chairperson Paul O Donoughue, asking the Killorglin Active Retired, to attend their Fun Day in The Coast Inn- and what a great day it was! We arrived at 4 pm and didn’t, leave until 7 pm. Noreen O Donoughue was up all night making sandwiches and pastries, her husband Paul was serving tea and coffee. Paul also brought some prizes for lucky ticket winners.
The music was fantastic with another Mr O Donoughue from Valentia Island playing waltz after waltz to please the ladies. Some of the girls did the Slosh! To the Cahersiveen Social Services, we say a big Thank you and we will be back again.
