The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Draw made for the O’Donoghue Cup
THE draws for the 2017 East Kerry Championships were made on Friday night in the Gleneagle Hotel and threw up interesting pairings.
In the O’Donoghue Cup East Kerry Senior Championship, sponsored by the Aquila Club, Gleneagle Hotel, three teams get a bye to the quarter-finals. These are the previous years finalists, who get an automatic bye to the quarter finals and the third bye is determined by draw.
Teams with players on the Kerry Senior team are entered into the draw but teams eliglble to play in the Fr Galvin Cup Intermediate championship are not eligible for this draw.
This meant that Legion and Kilcummin were in the draw for the third bye and it was Legion were drawn. The round 1 pairings are as follows: Fossa V Firies, Listry V Kilcummin, Scartaglen V Cordal, Currow V Gneeveguilla, Spa V Glenflesk. Rathmore, Dr Crokes, Legion have byes.
