Roll-call for Killorglin college’s reunion

-

SCHOOL might be out for summer but not if you happen to be a past pupil of Killorglin Community College where efforts to rekindle those distant days are afoot ahead of next month’s reunion to mark two decades since the Leaving Cert.

The school reunion is for students who started in 1988, or finished in 1993, and for event organiser Helen Courtney Power, it promises to be a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and classmates - many of whom haven’t met since that time.

“It’s a chance to recall the days attending the ‘tech’ as it was known then. We have sent out invitations to the class of 1988; however, we don’t have addresses for everyone that did the Leaving Cert, so we are hoping that word of mouth will work and everyone will come along on the night to share in the fun,” said Helen.

The reunion is scheduled for Saturday, July 29 at Nicks Restaurant, Killorglin at 8pm where a hot buffet and music will be provided. Fellow reunion organiser, Owen O Sullivan, added how they have managed to unearth some great photos and videos of the class which will no doubt raise the nostalgia tempo on the night.

“We would also ask that class members bring any mementos they have so we can share them on the night. A number of former teachers have also been invited to attend the reunion” Owen said.

For more information about the reunion contact Owen O Sullivan on 087-7900985 or Helen Courtney on 0863644113. You can also visit the Facebook Page ‘Killorglin Community College School Reunion’. If you wish to attend please RSVP before Friday, July 14.
