Ballyfinnane N.S. bring colour to local community centre
LAST Thursday, the students of Ballyfinnane National School organised an art exhibition to showcase the works of their talented student artist. THE exhibition, featuring works from students of all different classes, was put on display last week by the school in the local community centre.
The selection of art created by the students provided the community centre with a wide variety of works, ranging from doves, bugs and even a pack of playing cards, created by Kathy Keenan.
The students, who have been spending weeks creating their artistic pieces , had an art exhibition last Thursday in the local hall to showcase their works.
Among the standout pieces showcased were a holy cross from Sarah Fitzgerald and a book cretaed by Rachel Quirke, who combine her love of art and literature to create her artpiece.
Other pieces include a large cut our of a ladybug created by Holly MacEntee and Declan O’Connor. Younger age groups also contributed to the exhibition, with Mia Ryan, Sophie Quike, Emma Collins and Seoidin O’Connor created their very own caterpillar farm. Francess O’Connor and eoghan Corbett worked together to create a starfish for the exhibition, which saw parents and members of the community come out in force to celebrate the work put in by the students.
School principal Clair O’Connor said that she was delighted with the work put in by each and every student into making the day the success that it was and praised the artwork as adding a splash of colour to the school and community centre.
She is hopeful that the students will continue to keep pursuing their passion for art and is hopeful that the school possessed some potential future artists.
