Cordal up next on the Kerry league

CURROW CC hosts its round of the Kerry Clubs Road Race League this Thursday in Cordal following on from Killorglin, Sliabh Luachra and Tralee Lee Strand’s rounds.

Sign on will be in the car park of the Cordal GAA / Community Centre from 6.15pm with the action getting underway at 6.45pm who will do eight laps.

The Under 14s race over five laps from 6.46pm with the Under 12s doing two laps and are away a minute later. The main race of the night, the seniors race from 7.30pm.

The race will take place over the smaller Cordal circuit, which was used last year for the Underage County Championsh­ips.

Killarney CC’s Conor Kissane will be looking to win his third round in a row while the winner of the first round George Doyle, Tralee Manor West iBike will be looking for his second win.

Cleverly is the fastest – again

RICHARD Cleverly (Sliabh Luachra CC) was again the fastest man against the clock in Round 2 of the Kerry Time Trial League and this week improved his time by over half a minute clocking 27.12 for the 20km. Second home was his club mate Sean Dineen stopping the clock at 27.24 and these two men also top the League table after two rounds.

Third on the night was Killor- glin’s Michael O’Shea in 28.02 while Suzanne O’Sullivan of Tralee Manor West iBike. Eoin Moloney (Tralee Manor West iBike) was the fastest Under 16 who also cover the 20km route.

The Under 14s and Under 12s race against the clock over 9.6km and the Galvin Brothers from Killarney CC again clocked the fastest times in both age groups. Patrick was the quickest ahead of club-mate Ethan Slattery and Kingdom’s Adam Lenihan.

Shane was again unbeatable at the youngest age group with fellow Killarney CC members Callum and Louis Steadman Murphy taking second and third. On the league table Eoin Moloney and the Galvin’s top the Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12 sections.
