Kerry GAA Night of Champions drew record crowds

-

THE Kerry GAA Night of Champions at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium on Friday last drew record crowds for an event in brilliant sunshine. The major Kerry GAA annual fundraiser is rightly acclaimed as one of the highlights of the GAA Social calendar in the county and Friday night did not disappoint in that respect.

The Kerry senior football squad, led by manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice, were present and played no small part in the enjoyment of the evening and thanks is due to them for their patience in providing autographs and photos for all. Thanks also to the members of the Kerry Senior hurling panel and their manager Fintan O’Connor.

On the track, the big race of the evening, The Kerry GAA Suporters Club Race of Champions, was won by Killinan Rosie earning €15,000 for the connections, while the winner of the Kerry GAA Club Sweepstake was won from trap 3 by the aptly named ‘Right Half Back’ who earned a nice cheque for Lispole and North Kerry Football Board.

No such event would be complete without a ‘Best Dressed Lady’ competition and the Judges from Jasmeine Boutique opted for the “Lady in Red” Anne Chute from Killarney.
