The annual Glencar Cattle Show will take place on this Sunday 25th June in Lickeen Sports Field starting at 1.30 p.m. Come along and have an enjoyable afternoon.

FUNDING FOR FLOOD RELIEF

Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed an allocation of €107,016 from the O.P.W. for flood relief works at Inchrea, Glenbeigh. The Fianna Fail Councillor who campaigned vigorously at every level for funding said that Kerry Co. Council submitted this application under Minor Flood Migration works and Coastal Protection Scheme in March of this year and he is delighted this application has been successful, the local councillor said the works will entail the provision of a new enbankment close to the effected homes and works will be carried out towards the end of the summer following the completion of surveys in the area

CURRAHEEN N.S. FUNDING

Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed funding of €50,000 under the Clar Programme for the provision of a playground and handball alley at Curraheen N.S. Councillor Cahill said he was delighted to propose the inclusion of this school in Kerry Co.Council’s submission to the Department. The Fianna Fail Councillor said this is great news for a school which was in danger of closing a few short years ago, it is wonderful news for the children and great credit is due to school principal Claire Doyle and her fellow teachers and Board of Management for their great work.
