FLEADH CHEOIL na MUMHAN: As part of the Fleadh Cheoil na Mumhan in Cork City between July 18th and 23rd there will be a Slide and Polka Workshop with Connie O’Connell on Friday July 21st between 10am and 4pm in the Cork School of Music. Class fee is €12 (including lunch). Open to all ages and instrument­s. All musicians welcome.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMEN­T

Once again Social And Health Education Project (SHEP) are offering a Certificat­e in Personal Developmen­t which will take place in Tralee and Killarney in the autumn. The S.C.P.D. is a 120 hour course which runs from the beginning of Oct to mid-May, 1 evening a week & 7 weekend days spread out over the duration of the course. The full cost of the course is €790 & there is limited availabili­ty of a reduced fee of €490. You may apply for a reduced fee place if you are; 1) In receipt of a social welfare payment 2) A full time student 3) If you are experienci­ng financial hardship. Arrangemen­ts can be made with the project to pay the fee over the duration of the course. WELL DONE to Mastergeeh­a players Anna Hannigan, Kate Lynch and Caolinn O’Donoghue who played with play with Kerry U16 girls and Eleana Doherty who played with play with Kerry U14 girls in the Gaynor Cup in University of Limerick last week. All did very well.
