KILLARNEY LEGION

-

CO.LEAGUE Beaufort 0-11 Killarney Legion 0-11 If there wasn’t a ‘’scoring goal’’ in Beaufort before - the goal at the scoreboard end certainly put down a marker in this County League game last Saturday.17 of the 22 points were kicked into that end as Legion raced ahead in the first half only to be reeled back in by the final whistle.Jamie O Sullivan dominated our scoring in the first half with a supporting cast of Billy Maguire and Thomas Moriarty.A half time lead of 8 points to 2 was a fair reflection of that half. In the second period Beaufort upped the tempo but they were assisted by some haphazard defending as we’d showed no signs of our efficient and smart first half link up play.Jamie again had us ahead in the dying minutes but Beaufort playing with renewed spirit lofted over an equaliser which they hardly would have believed was possible at half time.So all roads lead to Austin Stack Park next Sunday,2pm, for the County Championship clash with West Kerry.Needless to say an improvement will be needed but the return of the inter county delegation will lend to the cause. U14 BOYS Killarney Legion 5-10 Keel/Listry 1-12

The u14 boys overcame the challenge from a physically stronger combination side to register another good win in the league.Making good clever use of the ball they managed to register a fine tally on the scoreboard.Goals from Jamie Alade,Darragh Fleming and a fine haul of three from Cian’’Chips’’McCann set them up nicely as well as did some disciplined defending.A side that shows great promise with some fine prospects on board.
