FOOD is an integral part of the hospitalit­y sector these days with people more conscious about how their food is sourced, produced and presented. There’s no danger of complacenc­y in this regard for the new owners of Rosspoint Bar and Restaurant as they are determined to incorporat­e all the locality has to offer in terms of fresh produce.

Darran makes the valid point that a bar really only comes into itself late in the evening which means for most of the time you need to be receptive to customers looking for morning coffee, afternoon snacks and lunch. Food is now a major player and with two chefs on board, customers needn’t worry about twinning a great place to eat with a vibrant atmosphere at the Rosspoint Bar and Restaurant. Open from 10:30am, six days a week, and 12:30pm on Sundays the bar is a welcome stop off point where a full range of bar food will be available. The restaurant also offers a full menu for a more relaxed evening get together. Glenbeigh is also a part of the world where you would expect to find fresh quality fish and Rosspoint’s seafood chowder is already enjoying a growing reputation with customers.

The traditiona­l staples like Sunday roast, steak sandwiches, Lasagnes, cold meats, fresh scones and desserts are also available throughout the day.

Darran is equally aware of the locality’s popularity and the way in which this can determine customers’ food requiremen­ts. “These days you must be prepared to function as a restaurant and cater for people looking to enjoy a coffee, quick bite to eat, or an evening meal. We’re located in an area with a steady footfall throughout the day from families on a day trip to walkers and sightseers. They all expect food at different times during the day and we aim to provide this,” said Darran.
