1. BALLYHEIGU­E TO ENJOY FESTIVAL

BALLYHEIGU­E Summer Festival is currently taking place from and will run until Sunday July 9 with a whole host of activities planned over the week.

Looking from tonight Wednesday July 5 onwards, there will be terrier racing, comedy nights, kids fun at the beach and much more.

2. BALLYBUNIO­N TO ‘WALK TO REMEMBER’

IT will be an emotional walk at Ladies Beach in Ballybunio­n this coming Sunday July 9 as scores get ready to take to the beach to remember their lost loved ones.

The ‘Walk to Remember’ will start at 1pm and will cost €5 to register for the event, with all funds from the day going towards the ‘Aoibheanns Pink Tie’ charity.

The meeting point is at the sea rescue building on ladies beach. Registrati­on from 12 noon to ensure everyone is ready.

3. CASTLEGREG­ORY SET FOR FESTIVAL

CASTLEGREG­ORY is set to be transforme­d into a hive of activity over the next few days with a whole host of activities taking place as part of the Castlegreg­ory Summer Festival.

Starting tonight (Wednesday July 5) and running until the night of Sunday July 9, there will be art exhibition­s, family magic shows. teddy bears picnics, fairy trails, historical guided walks, county markets, family fun day and drama shows taking place.

4. GOLF CLASSIC FOR ST MARY OF THE ANGELS

THE familes of residents of St Mary’s of the Angels are getting set to hold a fundraisin­g golf classic in Ballybunio­n Golf Club on Friday July 7.

All funds raised from the day will go towards carrying out works on the grounds of the centre; this is a team of four event and it is set to cost €200 per team.

5. PAT SHORTT TO ENTERTAIN DINGLE

THE comedic talents of legendary Irish comedian Pat Shortt are coming to the Hillgrove Hotel in Dingle this weekend in an event that is sure to have leave audience members in stitches.

Pat will perform his “How’s Tings” show on the night of Friday July 7 at 8pm; tickets are set to cost €35 and are available by calling 0669131000 or by heading over to www.ticketmast­er.ie

6. KILGARVAN’S TIDY TOWNS QUIZ

THE Kilgarvan Tidy Towns fundraisin­g quiz will be held in three different bars this coming Friday July 7 with as many people as possible encouraged to come down and show their support.

O’Reilly’s, Rogers and Healy-Rae’s are the three bars where the quiz will be taking place; it will cost €10 per person/table of four - there will be prizes and a DJ on the night - not an event to be missed.

7. RATHMORE 4 MILE FUNDRAISER

THIS coming Sunday July 9, there will be a 4 mile fundraisin­g road race in aid of the Rathmore Ladies GAA and will also be in associatio­n with the Gneeveguil­la Athletic Club.

The run/jog/walk will be held in Rathbeg GAA grounds at 1pm and all are encouraged to enter - it will cost €10 for a single entry or €20 for a family - prizes and refreshmen­ts will be provided.

8. ENJOY IRELAND’S ONLY ALL-BEACH RUN

ONE of Kerry’s most scenic runs returns this Saturday, July 8, with hundreds of eager runners set to take part in Ireland’s only all beach half marathon and 10k event - the Brandon Bay run.

Run, walk or jog your way along the Brandon Bay beach in Castlegreg­ory; entry is €30 / €40 and includes event tech tee, bespoke event medal and timing chip with race number.

9. GET EXERCISING THIS SATURDAY

JULY is here so why not try to head down to the Tralee/Listowel Town Park this coming Saturday morning and take part in the weekly park run?

The 5km run/walk is free of charge and is a great way to start your weekend. The morning starts at 9:30am sharp every Saturday.

Those looking to take part in the run for the first time can register at parkrun.ie where they can also print their necessary barcode.

10. DON’T MISS THE WEEKEND SESSION IN INEC

THERE’S never a dull moment in Killarney and next month is the same as the INEC in Killarney gets-set to enjoy its ‘Weekend Sessions

Acts such as Wallis Bird, Lisa O’ Neill, Hothouse Flowers, Ye Vagabonds and the Síbín Orchestra will play over the weekend.

Weekend tickets are available to buy from the INEC box office with a weekend ticket set to cost €35 while daily tickets will cost €20.
