Kingdom Car Classic and Honda 50 Charity Run

-

MEMBERS of the Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club will embark on their eighth annual charity run from Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant on this coming Friday evening, July 21, at 7pm.

While they have built up quite a following over the previous seven runs, they’re still issuing invitations to kindred spirits, Silver Ghosts and Honda 50s to join them.

The weekend’s run will benefit Down Syndrome Kerry and a collections bucket will be in operation on a voluntary donations basis.

With Ó Riada’s as its point of beginning and end, the convoy of gleaming relics of old decency will head for the roundabout beyond Ballygarry House Hotel.

There, they’ll turn left for Farranfore and head on to Currow Village, over by Dromulton to Davy Roche’s Cross down to Castleisland, back by Garvey’s SuperValu and onto the bypass and off back to Ballymacelligott.

The club increased its charity take a couple of years ago by inviting Honda bike owners to join them on the run.

Taking the age of the participating vehicles into consideration they now avoid challenging, hilly routes and opt for flatter circuits after lessons learned over the last few years.

For further information, you’re invited to contact: George Glover on 087 28 14 545 or Lucy Breen on 087 41 41 158.
