The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)

A message from Kenmare Marketing and Events Group

-

IN Kenmare we are extremely lucky to live in an area of such natural beauty. Kenmare holds a unique position as it is on both the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. As a result, Kenmare Marketing and Events Group (KMEG) is building links with Chambers of Commerce in both Cork and Kerry.

Nowhere else in the world will you get such unparalleled views alongside such outstanding hospitality, and that is what makes Kenmare unique!

KMEG comprises of the Kenmare Chamber of Commerce and the Kenmare Social and Events group. We have representatives from all sectors of Kenmare’s business and local community groups working together to market the Kenmare area on both the national and international stage. We have employed a Marketing Manager to actively encourage tourism through our unique maps, books, brochures and our festivals and events. Over the past twelve months KMEG has been responsible for helping and running, the Kenmare Ring of Beara Cycle, Feile Neidin, the Kenmare Halloween Howl, the ‘Small Roads’ dining and theatre festival to name a few.

KMEG has rebuilt the Kenmare.ie website into a site with incredible images and up to date content. It is maintained, updated and improved on a regular basis by the Marketing Manager. This website is the main business directory and event’s calendar for the Kenmare area. A very active Social Media presence ensures that all member activities and upcoming events in Kenmare reach as wide an audience as possible.

We liaise with Kerry County Council and Fáilte Ireland on behalf of the town in order to secure funding for initiatives within the town and to raise issues of concern on behalf of our members. Funding is vital for the town and we are very appreciative of the help that is given to the town through grant aid.
