SIOBHAN IS WINNER ALRIGHT...

IT was the height of fashion all round at Killarney Races this week as Siobhan McCarthy from Killarney picked up the top prize in the ‘style stakes’ at the Dawn Milk Ladies’ Day.

Siobhan’s stunning outfit caught the eye of the judges with its stunning racing style and vibrant colours. Her red lace dress consisted of a nude underlay from ASOS, complemented with a matching hat designed by Agne Kremenskiene. This was added to with a vintage gold clutch and gold strappy sandal.

Siobhan’s efforts in the fashion stakes yielded her a trip for two to the capital of style, Paris, and a specially commissioned vase. “I am overwhelmed and delighted to win the Dawn Milk Queen of Fashion, it was such a great day out and I’m thrilled to be a winner at the Killarney Races,” said Siobhan.

The men were not to be outdone either and Gavin O’Leary, also from Killarney, won the Dawn Milk Best Gent Competition. This is the first year that a fashion category for men was introduced and there was no shortage of stylish gents on display during Killarney Races.

Gavin won a trip to Milan and a specially commissioned crystal decanter. Gavin’s outfit was a purple, tailor-made suit with a double breasted grey waistcoat, floral tie and grey hat. “I’m delighted to win, it’s great and I am really looking forward to the trip to Milan. Thanks to the sponsors Dawn Milk for the great prize,” said Gavin.

Judges’ Thalia Heffernan, a top Irish model, and Dancing with the Stars winner, Aidan O’Mahony, kept a close eye on the contestants who were shortlisted to 10 lady finalists and 10 gents from thousands of worthy entrants.

“Dawn Milk has always been an integral part of the community in Killarney, and beyond, through its various sponsorships over the years. Dawn Milk has sponsored Ladies Day in Killarney for 24 years making it one of the longest ladies’ day patronages in Ireland,” said John O’Sullivan, General Manager of Dawn Milk.
