1. ENJOY DAY OF WALKING IN AID OF HOSPICE

IF you fancy taking a trek through the woods in aid of a very worthy cause this weekend, then look no further than this Sunday’s Glanageent­y hill walk in aid of the Kerry Hospice.

The ‘Friends of Palliative Care’ group are inviting all those interested in the day to come along to the Glanageent­y Woods on the morning of Sunday, July 30 at 10am to join them in their fundraisin­g walk.

No donation cards are needed for the walk, but any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciate­d on the day.

2. KILLARNEY TO ENJOY INFLATABLE RUN

IF you were a fan of the colour run that took place in Killarney a few months back, then this latest event, an ‘Inflatable Colour Run’ taking place on July 30, is right up your street.

The very best of a colour run and inflatable run will combine together to make this an un-missable event.

Tickets are available to find from the ‘Inflatable Run Kerry’ Facebook page and are set to cost from €12 for a child under 12 and €23 for an adult.

3. TEST YOURSELF AT 40 MILE ULTRA MARATHON

THE annual ‘Born To Run’ 40 Mile Ultra Marathon will take place this coming Saturday July 29 at 7am, with spaces still available for those who would like to register.

Participan­ts have the option of running 10 loops of 4 miles each on the day or theu can choose to avail of the ‘tag team’ option where the miles can be split up between teammates.

The run will start from FBD House, just behind the Rose Hotel with tickets set to cost €45 for an individual entry and €70 for the group option.

4. A NIGHT OF FUN WITH CORDAL GAA

CORDAL GAA is inviting you to enjoy a night of music and dance this Friday night, July 28 with country wester star, Lisa McHugh set to provide the entertainm­ent on the night.

Taking place in the Castleisla­nd Community Center from 10pm till late, tickets for this event are set to cost €20/ €22.50 and are available from www.cordalgaa.com or by contacting 0872285653.

5. CARRAUNTOO­HIL CLIMB FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

MILLTOWN Community First Responders are inviting able-bodied men and women to join them in a fundraisin­g climb of Carrauntoo­hil this Saturday, July 29.

The climb will cost €20 per person with the group set to meet at the Milltown Square car park at 8am - all those interested in taking part can contact Damien Browne on 0874551895.

6. CAN YOU ROB A BANK IN KENMARE?

SEE the return of The Carnegie Players to the Carnegie Arts Centre in Kenmare with the “Anyone Could Rob A Bank” play by Thomas Coffey.

Opening night is Friday JUly 28 at 7:30pm (curtains 8pm) with further shows scheduled for July 29, 30 and 31 at 8pm. Tickets are set to cost €15/ €12 (students).

7. CASTLEMAIN­E TO HOLD MEMORIAL SOCCER DAY

CASTLEMAIN­E United Soccer Club will hold a 7-a-side soccer tournament this Saturday July 29, in honour of their former player, John Giles.

Entry is €50 for 10 players with all proceeds from the day going towards local charities. Starting from 9:30am on the day, teams from all over the county are welcome.

Teams must have one ball per team and are asked to wear the same coloured jerseys/tops.

8. BIG TOM AND THE MAINLINERS IN THE INEC

BIG Tom and the Mainliners are set to perform the INEC this Saturday July 29 woth doors opening at 8pm and the show itself starting at 9pm; tickets set to cost €29.

9. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND

JULY is here so why not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These completely free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

Those looking to take part in the run for the first time can register at parkrun.ie where they can also print their necessary barcode.

10. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund in Tralee will host their weekly social dance nights in the Grand Hotel this month.

The dances start at 9pm every Wednesday night with the cost of entry for each night set at €8.
