KERRY HOSPICE

-

BUSY WEEKS AHEAD

It is going to be a very busy couple of weeks for Kerry Hospice and it’s fantastic bunch of volunteers who continue to work tirelessly for the cause on a daily basis.

Next week the 10th and the 12th of August will see the Killorglin Branch along with other Hospice volunteers take to the streets for Puck Fair.

Look out for our Green Gazebo which will be in Library Place on both days. We will have some items on sale and will hope to raise some much needed funds for Kerry Hospice.

We will have people around the town on the two days so look out for us in out green t-shirts and support if you can.

Puck kicks off on Thursday the 10th with the annual parade in which for the first year Kerry Hospice will have a float in it with our Chairman and Kerry Person of The Year Ted Moynihan leading us out down Main Street Killorgin.

ROSE OF TRALEE EVENT

Kerry Hospice volunteers will return to the Town Park again this year on Sunday, August 20th to raise further awareness of Palliative Care Services in Kerry.

The New Fifteen Instay Care Unit will be officially opened in October. The idea to remember loved ones who have survived or passed on was the Inspiration of 2015 Rose of Tralee Elysha Brennan and this will be carried on again this year. Balloons will be on sale in the Town Park and attached to the balloon will be a card on which people can write a message to support their loved ones or to send a message ‘Over the Rainbow’ to remember their loved ones.

The event will be compered by a member of the Festival and the 2016 Rose of Tralee, Maggie McEldowney, will be on hand to help release the balloons. This was a very special event last year despite the bad weather. Hope to see ye all there again this year.

GREYHOUND NIGHT

Kerry Hospice along with the Treshing for Cancer Group are holding a greyhound night in Tralee on the 2nd of September in which proceeds will be shared between both charities.

Tickets are on sale at the moment at a cost of €10 and the many branches of Kerry Hospice will have them next week. This promises to be a great night and all in aid of great causes.

FASHION SHOW

Killarney Branch of Kerry Hospice Foundation are holding their Models in Recovery Fashion show at the INEC on Tues 5th Sept. The show is unique in that all models are cancer survivors. Now in it’s fourth year it has been a great fundraising success to date.

We are delighted to have as our compere TV3 personality Noel Cunningham who hails from Donegal. Among the courageous models taking part is our county fundraising chairman and current Kerry Person Of The Year, the ever young Ted Moynihan. Tickets at €15 each are available from Treasurer Pat Doolan [085 1543514], participating shops and INEC booking office.

Boutiques taking part are MacBees; Weardrobe; Pillbox; Kerry’s; New Look and Penneys, Killarney and Annetts, Abbeyfeale. Hair Stylist; Ruby Tuesday and Make Up What Women Want.
