1. LISTOWEL TO ROCK TO ‘REVIVAL’ FESTIVAL

LISTOWEL will be the place to be this coming Saturday August 12 as the hugely popular ‘Revival’ festival takes place in the town’s square.

Bands such as ‘The Undertones’, ‘The Blizzards’ and ‘Hermitage Green’ will take to the stage from 5:30pm onwards on the day for what promises to be an amazing night of entertainm­ent.

Tickets are currently on sale from Ticketmast­er and are set to cost €30.

2. KILLORGLIN ALL SET FOR PUCK FAIR

IT’S that time of year again in Killorglin as the town prepares for its biggest weekend of the year - Puck Fair.

Ireland’s oldest fair will run from August 10 to August 12 and will see the town packed full to the brim with stalls, workshops free open air concerts which will run alongside the hours of fantastic family fun taking place each day.

3. WETLANDS TO HOLD CHARITY COFFEE MORNING

ON the morning of August 13, Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre and the Lakeside Café will host a Cake Sale and Coffee morning with all donations and proceeds going to MS Ireland.

The morning, which will run from 11am to 3pm will see coffee, hot buns and cakes being sold on the day.

4. DINGLE SET FOR RACING WEEKEND

BALLINTAGG­ART Racecourse is once again getting set to host the fantastic Dingle Racing Festival this weekend.

Taking place on August 11, August 12 and August 13, a festival that is billed as ‘Ireland’s Largest and Best Horse and Pony Meeting’ is sure not to disappoint.

5. SOCCER CLUB TO HOLD FUNDRAISIN­G QUIZ

SOCCER club, Classic FC, will this weekend hold a fundraisii­ng table quiz, with everyone encouraged to attend the night.

Taking place on the night of Friday August 11 from 9:30pm onwards in the Greyhound Bar in Tralee.

There will be a raffle and spot prizes given out on the night; there will be a maximum of four people allowed on a table with the entry fee set at €20 per table.

Not one to be missed.

6. GREAT FUN IN STORE AT KNOCKNAGOS­HEL

KNOCKNAGOS­HEL will be the place this weekend as it gets set to host the annual Harvest ‘Pattern ’Festival.

Events ranging from the Terrific Tiny Tots Races to the Horse Fair and to the highly entertaini­ng ‘All Star Mr & Mrs’, there will be plenty of entertainm­ent to things to choose from.

A great weekend of music and weekend in store for all.

7. WOODIES TO HOST CHARITY SOCCER DAY

WOODIES in Tralee will put on charity soccer tournament this weekend, with all proceeds from the day going towards the Make A Wish Foundation, Temple Street Childrens Hospital, Jack And Jill Foundation and Act for Meningitis.

The 7-a-side tournament will take place on Saturday August 12 at the IT Tralee North Campus from 4pm onwards with an entry fee of €100 per team

8. KERRY’S LUNA TO PLAY ROSSBEIGH

THE musical talents of South Kerry band ‘Luna’ will be on show at Rosspoint in Glenbeigh tomorrow (Thursday August 10).

Described as “Kerry’s answer to the Dixie Chicks”, Luna promise a unique blend of many genres of music, including Irish song and dance.

9. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND

AUGUST is here so why not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These completely free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.

Those looking to take part in the run for the first time can register at parkrun.ie where they can also print their necessary barcode.

10. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund in Tralee will host their weekly social dance nights in the Grand Hotel this month.
