KERRY HOSPICE

-

BEWLEYS CYCLING GROUP

Bewleys for Hospice: We had the pleasure of hosting the group from Bewleys on Friday last on the site of the new Hospice building. A group of seven guys from Bewleys took to the roads on their bikes visiting the Hospices of Ireland on their way.

Our annual coffee mornings are being held on the week of the 14th of September and these are always a great fundraiser for the many hospices around the country. A huge thank you to Bewleys and the gang who started their event in Tralee on Friday and Mark Saunders presented a cheque for €1000 to Kerry Hospice, which was a fantastic gesture.

COFFEE MORNINGS

There are many coffee mornings taking place around the county over the week of the 14th of September. This is always well supported in kerry so look out for one your area. One such coffee morning to look out for is happening during Listowel races on Wednesday the 13th of September. Nora Mulvihill of Listowel Branch will host one in Church Street, please come out and support if you can.

Remember all monies raised in Kerry stays in Kerry.

GREYHOUND NIGHT

A huge well done to Killorglin Branch who put in a huge effort into organising the big greyhound night last Friday night in Tralee. This event was a joint effort with Threshing Cancer who has also done June fundraising for cancer services. There was a big crowd in attendance even though the weather was bad. All funds raised will go towards cancer services in Kerry which are all doing amazing work. A huge thank you to all who supported Kerry Hospice with sponsoring races and adds for the programme and to all who purchased tickets for the event in our many branches.

FASHION SHOW

The next event on the calendar is the now very popular fashion show which takes place in INEC Killarney on Tuesday the 5th of September. This promises to be a great night and one that has been very special down through the years. Tickets are still on sale at a cost of €15. Best of luck to the Killarney Branch and all that are organising and taking part in the event.

BAG PACKING

We will be holding a bag packing day on the 22nd and 23rd of September in Tesco (Manor) from 6-9 on Friday and 12/6 on Saturday. We are always looking for new volunteers and if you could spare an hour please get in touch - Andrea (0876413449 ).

NEW BUILDING

The new building and its surrounding area is looking great and progressing every week. The hope is to be opened in late October/early November all going according to plan. The work that has been done so far is amazing and the progress that has been made in a short space of time is amazing to see.

None of this would be possible but for the great work of our volunteers and the many who donate and support Kerry Hospice on a daily basis.
