Healy-Rae calls for seal cull

MICHAEL Healy Rae is calling for a cull of seals he claims are causing damage to fisheries on the River Laune and Maine as well as other waterways. “Fishermen pay drastic net license fees but are not actually able to do anymore fishing because seals are not just eating all the salmon but they are also tearing the fishermen’s nets and causing wholesale destruction. The population is out of control and I have called on the Minister that a cull will have to be organised to reduce the numbers.”
