Kerry hurling fan passes on knowledge

STEPHEN Crowley from Gneeveguilla is an aquaintance of a number of Valentia Islanders and has visited the island. His wife Christine is a Galway woman and was recently on Radio Kerry’s Terrace Talk programme outlining the fact that her nephew is Johnny Coen the Galway All-Ireland hurling medal winner from Loughrea.

Stephen is a keen wielder of the caman and on visits to Galway imparted his skills and hurling knowledge to Johnny as a youngster. The fruits of his endeavours have paid off as Johnny is also a holder of All-Ireland minor and under 21 medals and is a former young player of the year.
