Séan hits the road on charity tour of lakes

-

WEST Kerry charity cycling supremo Seán Ó Catháin hit the road on Monday on a tour that will take him past every notable lake from Dún Chaoin to Dún na nGall, raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland along the way.

For almost as long as he can remember, the retired Scoil Cill Mhic a’ Domhnaigh principal has made an annual bicycle road trip with the de kn 28-37 stination based on whatever seems like a good theme at the time. This year’s theme is lakes so he’s starting out at Mount Eagle lake, winding around the Lakes of Killarney and then following a meandering route up the country to Lough Dearg in Donegal.

The cycle is in memory of Seán’s sister, Peigí Mistéal, who sadly passed away in April and funds raised will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Sponsors or donations for Seán’s cycle are welcome and can be made to Bank of Ireland, Dingle. The account number is 02577013; sort code 93 62 86.
