GIRLS UPDATE Our 16 girls have qualified for the East Kerry League final after an excellent week in Direen. They took advantage of 2 home games vs Glenflesk and Laune Rangers to make it through to the decider and they now await the playing of some back game to find out their opponents.

Legion girls continued their East Kerry campaign last Sunday evening at home to Scartaglen. The game proved to be a very tight affair with scores hard to come by. Legion gained an early advantage with a well taken goal but as the half progressed, both teams traded score for score before Scartaglen nicked in for a goal just before half time to go in ahead on a score of 1-4 to 1-3. The second half proved to be equally as tenacious with chances being missed at either end as well as cross bar and posts being hit. Legion appeared to be getting the upper hand as they grabbed a goal and went into a two point lead entering the final stages. However, Scartaglen rallied again and despite some fierce defending, Scartaglen scored a decisive goal with time almost up and followed it up with a point. In what was a very entertaining game, Scartaglen won on a score line of 2-10 to 2-7. U14 girls also played a very entertaining and competitive game against Glenflesk midweek with which showed some excellent performances by some of the younger members of the panel in particular. Next up for u14 girls is an East Kerry game and a trip to Milltown/ Listry on Sunday evening next. The U12 girls had a tough battle vs Kilcummin before eventually going down by 2-8 to 0-7.They now continue the league on a round Robin format with games vs Kilcummin and Laune Rangers .
