CULTURE NIGHT EVENT

Friday September 22nd 2017 Ionad na Dromoda from 5.00pm onwards / Casting Light on Ireland’s Bronze Age - Bringing the story behind Ireland’s archaeological artefacts alive, sculptor Holger Lonze and folklorist/maker Billy Mag Fhloinn will cast replicas of archaeological artefacts, small sculpture and attempt to re-create a 2,500 yearsold side-blown horn based on the Late Bronze Age Derrynane Horn. Clay/dung moulds will be poured with bronze molten in a hand-bellows fuelled charcoal pit furnace in an itinerant Bronze Age metal outdoor workshop setting. The visually striking event gives spectators insight into a thousands of years old process that connects contemporary art and archaeology. Please dress according to weather and bring musical instruments.

Seirbhís Máirt /Tá Seirbhís banaltra ar fáil, gach seachtain ar aghaidh chun seirbhisí generálta a chur ar fháil. The community nurse is available by appointment only. Please avail of this wonderful service which is free of charge. It is essential that you ring on 0669475466 anytime to make an appointment with the nurse. If the nurse is unavailable at the time you ring leave your name and number and she will come back to you. Procedures available are; Blood Pressure checks, Dressings, Supplies, General Information and any health queries you might have.
