Congratula­tions to Cian O’Neill, Lounahan, Kilgarvan, son of Tessy and Declan O’Neill and Deirdre Brennan, Castleiney, Co. Tipperary daughter of Mary and Johnny Brennan who were married on Saturday 15th July 2017 at St. John the Baptist Church, Castleiney, Co. Tipperary. The bridesmaid­s were Aisling Brennan, Kate Murphy and Siobhan Burke. The groomsmen were Darragh O’Neill, Bryan O’Shea and John Hurley. The reception was held at the Castle Oaks, Hotel, Castleconn­ell, Co. Limerick. The couple honeymoone­d in the USA and will reside in Cork.

Congratula­tions to Marion O’Sullivan, Gortloughe­ra, Kilgarvan daughter of Marie and Gabriel O’Sullivan and Derry O’Sullivan, Creegan, Kilgarvan, son of Margaret O’Sullivan who were married on Friday 1st September 2017 at 1:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilgarvan. The chief bridesmaid was Sandra O’Sullivan. Jennifer O’Leary, Fiona Kelleher and Caroline O’Sullivan were bridesmaid­s. Best man was Patrick O’Sullivan. David O’Connor, Kevin O’Connor and Philip Healy were groomsmen. Flower girl was Cara O’Sullivan. Evan O’Connor was pageboy. Chief Celebrant was Fr. John Kerins. The reception was held in Kenmare Bay Hotel, Kenmare. The couple will reside in Kilgarvan.

CANVAS CLUB

The Canvas Club, after school art classes resumed in Kilgarvan Community centre on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th of September. These classes offer children the chance to explore a variety of artistic techniques such as acrylic painting, charcoal and pencil sketching, landscape and portraitur­e in a fun and creative atmosphere. The classes are from 3:00pm- 4:00pm and are for National school students. Canvas Club mini’s resumes on Thursdays from 2:00pm - 2:45 pm and is a fun art and craft class for 4-6 year olds. TAEKWONDO CLASSES

Taekwondo Classes will begin at Kilgarvan Community Centre on Tuesday 12th September 2017 at 3:00pm and every Tuesday thereafter. Suitable for children of all ages. Classes will be a maximum of 1 hour. Taekwondo is a fun exercise and great for confidence building. Maura has successful Taekwondo classes in Kenmare and holds a first degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. EMIGRANT COLLECTION

The annual Emigrant collection will take place at the weekend Masses of Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th September 2017. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

RURAL MEN’S GROUP

A trip to Castletown­bere and Bere Island is planned for Thursday 28th September 2017. Pick up at Healy Rae’s Shop at 9:15am. Schedule as follows: Stop at Brooklane Hotel, Kenmare for Tea/Coffee and scone, travel to the Beara Coast Hotel for lunch(four course meal, soup, beef or salmon, apple tart, tea/ coffee), after lunch take ferry to Bere Island for sightseein­g or visit to the pub. Cost €60. Bookings no later than Wednesday 20th September 2017 with any Committee Member or South Kerry Developmen­t Partnershi­p Office.
