Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed confirmation from Kerry County Council that consultation with landowners on the Killorglin/ Killarney road will commence within the next month, in respect of the acquisition of lands for a new footpath from Killorglin Town out to the old Liebig Factory. The Fianna Fail Councillor said at a recent meeting of the South and West Kerry Municipal District that FEXCO will be relocating 300 Jobs from Killorglin Town out to the old Liebig factory, while creating 100 new High Tech Jobs. Councillor Cahill said there is a very real urgency in respect to the provision of a footpath adjacent to the Killorglin/ Killarney road out to the old Liebig factory and again called on the Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to expedite matters.
