Ballyheigue GAA takes to the dance floor
BALLYHEIGUE GAA members are putting their best foot forward on November 4 in a fundraiser that’s going to have everyone in the community cheering like maniacs while raising vital funds for the club.
It is of course, Ballyheigue’s turn to shine in the Strictly Come Dancing limelight when it shines down in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on all the brave dance couples set to take part in the event on the night.
All were out at the launch of the fundraiser at the GAA grounds on Thursday night last; ready to start getting to grips with the tricky choreography and fancy footwork. However, the exact partnerships have yet to be announced.
No fewer than 12 couples will take to the dancefloor in front of what’s certain to be a massive crowd of GAA and dance fans.
“It should be an excellent night of entertainment,” Ballyheigue GAA PRO Risteard Ó Fuaráin told The Kerryman.
“This event will raise funds for our juvenile hurling and football teams and for our senior hurling team,” he added. The ladies taking part are as follows: Angel Hussey, Susan Lacey, Joanne Stack, Theresa Gaynor, Sarah O’Sullivan, Fiona Casey, Joan Keating, Samantha Drury, Eimear O’Mahony, Julienne O’Grady, Elaine O’Donoghue and Michelle O’Brien.
The boys are as follows, meanwhile: Cormac Slattery, Mark Mulvihill, Pa O’Regan, Liam O’Sullivan, Aaron James, Danny Casey, Brendan Moriarty, Tommy O’Connor, Stephen O’Flaherty, Jason Stack, Willie Joe Leen and Cathal O’Regan.
“The details regarding couples and sponsors will be released in due course with participants already practising hard under the tutelage of Joe Burkett,” Risteard added.
