Lucky couple win €10,000 towards wedding reception at Muckross Park Hotel and Spa
IT was smiles all round earlier this month when couple Rebecca Spellman and James Lyons won the Muckross Park Hotel and Spa’s biggest give away prize to date: a €10,000 cheque towards a wedding reception at Muckross Park Hotel & Spa. The prize was presented to the lucky couple at the hotel’s wedding showcase event on Sunday afternoon having been chosen as winners from a shortlisted group of finalists.
Special guest, Kathryn Thomas hosted the unique wedding showcase event as guests were greeted with a drinks reception and some delicious samples from Heavenly Baked & Aunty Nellies sweet shop in the hotel’s Atrium building. There were 23 exhibitors on the day, one from each step of the wedding planning process. Once guests met with the exhibitors, they were then treated to delectable wedding food samples and an extensive dessert buffet in the hotel’s Valentia Suite.
Guests enjoyed a fashion show presented by newly engaged TV personality, Kathryn Thomas. There were a variety of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses showcased from White Willow Kenmare and Diamond Bridal Cork, occasion wear from Silk Peaches in Ballincollig and the suits modelled were from Simply Suits & Ryle Menswear. Models were prepped by hair guru Pat O’Neill and makeup artist Sandra Flynn.
The competition received over 800 entries through the online application form where couples were asked to explain why they would like to have their wedding at Muckross. Based on their wonderful stories, the judging panel shortlisted 10 couples who were presented with their cheque. The runners up each received a €1,000 voucher off a wedding at Muckross Park Hotel & Spa.
