Ballyhar Dynamos and CG Killarney share spoils in six-goal thriller

DENNY DIVISION 1A Ballyhar Dynamos 3 CG Killarney 3

IN a good competitiv­e game both sides were happy enough with a share of the spoils Ballyhar led 3-1 at the break with goals from Niall McCarthy (2) and Ed Kerrisk. However, CG Killarney put in a storming second half and secured a draw.

The CG scorers were Tadhg Fleming, Joe Hurley and Frank Cronin with assists from Mike Griffin, Joe Donovan and Sam Treharne and their best players on the day were Hubert Dziedzic, Mike Murphy, and Gary Cassidy

Best for Ballyhar were Patrick Daly, Dan O’Shea, Luke Fitzgerald, Diarmuid Brosnan, Padraig O’Connor and John McMahon.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic 1 Strand Road 1

THE game was scoreless at half time and an excellent strike by Adrian Flahive midway through the second half put Ballyheigu­e ahead. Late on Strand Road equalised direct from a Sean Dukes corner kick.

Best for Ballyheigu­e were Kieran O’Connor in defence and substitute­s Adrian Flahive and Fionn Kavanagh

Castlegreg­ory 4 Mastergeeh­a B 1

CASTLEGREG­ORY opened their season on a winning note with a comfortabl­e victory over Mastergeeh­a. Michael O’Dowd (2), Brandon Hoare and Maurice Slattery scored for the West Kerry side.

St Brendan’s Park 1 Killarney Athletic B 5

AFTER a great win the previous week The Park were brought back to reality on Sunday going down to a strong Killarney Athletic outfit. Chris O’Meara, Cillian O’Regan, Darren Mulcahy, Jason Ahern and Kieran Costello scored for the winners.

DENNY DIVISION 2A Ballymac Celtic 1 Classic FC B 3

CLASSIC had a strong team on duty and collected the three points with a good win. Damien Reid (2) and Cian O’Brien scored for the winners while Eoin Edwards scored for Ballymac Celtic.

Mitchels Avenue B 2 Clanmauric­e 1

A BIT of an upset here with one of the title contenders Clanmauric­e going down to Mitchels Avenue B. Zidane Algiers and Darren Breen scored for the winners.

DENNY DIVISION 2B Lisard United 1 Sneem Santos 4

SNEEM were too strong for new kids on the block Lisard United and won the game with plenty left in the tank. Dion Burke, Jimmy O’Brien, Eric Burns and Darragh O’Connor scored for the South Kerry side.

Lenamore Rovers 0 Spa Road 8

SPA Road picked up the three points easily out in Ballylongf­ord with a facile win over Lenamore Rovers. Conor O’Callaghan was the star performer for the winners with four goals while Tommy Moriarty, Peter Coffey, Dylan Burke and Ryan Byrne completed the scoring for the Tralee side.
