Killarney Athletic draw Doolan’s Cow in League Champions Trophy

KEANE’S JEWELLERS LEAGUE CHAMPIONS TROPHY

KILLARNEY Athletic will be very pleased with the draw they got in the Keane Jewellers League of Champions Trophy as after getting a bye in the first round they now have a home draw against Cork Business & Shipping League side Doolan’s Cow in the quarter-final.

This game will be played on the weekend of October 8/9 at Woodlawn.

This trophy has come to Killarney before as Killarney Celtic won it in its inaugural year back in 2011.

That game was played at Turners Cross where they faced Waterford side Carrick United and they looked beaten as the game entered the final minute trailing 1-0 but Peter McCarthy grabbed a late equaliser to force the game to extra-time.

They were still deadlocked after this but Celtic won 4-3 on penalties.
