Corca Dhuibhne Credit Union bursaries help make college life easier

-

COLLEGE life will be that bit easier for former Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne students Jaic Ó Grifín from Baile Bhoithín and his neighbour Faolán Dáibhís from Riasc after the pair were presented with Corca Dhuibhne Credit Union bursaries at the weekend by Kerry footballer Paul Geaney.

THIS is the first year the Credit Union offered the bursaries, worth €1,500 each, following an open competition for all eligible 6th year students in the local area.

JAIC is currently studying law in UCC while Faolán, who also received a Sparántacht an Bhlascaoid bursary last week, is studying engineering in UCD.

COMHAR Chreidmheasa Chorca Dhuibhne manager Micheál Ó Cinnéide said that the cost of third level education was a huge burden on parents and he hoped the Credit Union’s Education Bursaries would help with some of these costs. AT the presentation, Credit Union Marketing Committee Chairman Tim Finn spoke of the value of education and of the importance of investing in our young peoples’ future and said the Credit Union hoped the bursaries would continue over the coming years.

“BA mhaith leis an gComhar Creidmheasa a mbuíochas a ghabháil leis na scoláirí ar fad a chuir isteach ar na sparántachtaí agus guímíd gach rath orthu ina saol oideachais amach anseo,” dúirt Oifigeach Gaelainne leis an gComhar Creidmheasa Ruth Uí Ógáin.
