U-14 PREMIER

KILLORGLIN still lead the way without having played yesterday as they are on 4 points. Killarney Athletic were playing their first game and enjoyed a good 3-1 away win at Killarney Celtic.

The home side got off to the ideal start when Luke O’Neill scored after eight minutes. Sean Dineen levelled matters after 17 minutes and then Roco Rujevcan put the Woodlawn side ahead before the break with a 25-metre drive. Athletic wrapped up the win when Dylan Roche sealed victory with a brilliant goal later in the game.

The Park were a little stronger than the neighbours Tralee Dynamos and took the points with goals from Cianan Cooney, Colin Doody, Sean O’Connor, Sean O’Connell, Cillian Murphy and Missiah Chirwa.

U-14 DIVISION 1

BALLYHAR are certainly the team to catch in the early stages of the U-14 Division 1 as they now have nine points from their three games.

The game was tight in the first half with a James Horan goal and an og being cancelled out by goals from Celtic’s Gary Wynne and Rian Kelly. However Ballyhar took over at Celtic Park in the second half hitting five without reply. Stephen Palmer, Colm O’Shea, James Horgan, Luke Costello and Jack Teahan were their scorers.

Iveragh United opened their campaign with a 3-1 away win at Kilbrean Park. Mikey Kavanagh scored twice and Ronan Teahan once in their win while Oisin O’Leary replied for Mastergeeha.

U-14 DIVISION 2

LB Rovers move onto 4 points from their opening two games following a 1-1 draw away to Listowel Celtic B. Mikey Dunworth got the goal that keeps them at the top of the table.

Killarney Athletic B were involved in an amazing 13-goal thriller as they defeated MEK 8-5. MEK opened the stronger and were 2-0 up after 6 minutes but by the half Athletic had turned things around and led 3-2. The Killarney side were the stronger in the second half hitting five to take the win but credit to MEK as they never gave up and scored three but it wasn’t enough. For Athletic Liam Sheehan scored three, Teddy Muldoon got two with Jack Maguire, Karl McCarthy and an own goal accouting for the rest. Kevin Harant (2), Eddie Moroney, Sam Buckley and Dean Sheehan were on the mark for MEK.

The Fenit versus Castleisland game was the story of two late penalties. The game was scoreless at half time but two late penalties converted by Fenit’s Eddie McCarthy and Castleisland’s Alex Kepp saw the spoils shared.
