Five Kerry clubs lose on the road

-

Mastergeeha 2 Glin Rovers 4

MASTERGEEHA faced a tough test at Kilbrean Park against a strong West Limerick side and they put up a great performance but came out the wrong side of a six-goal game. James Nagle and Chris Egan scored the Mastergeeha goals.

Mitchels Avenue 1 Newcastlewest Rovers 1 (Newcastlewest won 3-2 on pens)

MITCHELS Avenue came into this game as outsiders but that did not bother the Tralee side as they played their distinctive brand of football contesting every ball like their life depended on it and made their opponents work hard to gain possession.

Brendan Coffey scored a great goal to forge ahead but the visitors fought back to bring the game to parity. Newcastlewest had a chance to win the game in extra time when they were awarded a penalty but they failed to convert it. It then went to the shoot out with the visitors winning 3-2

AK United 4 Dingle Bay Rovers 3

A BIT of a surprise here with Dingle going down to Desmond League side AK United. Sean Fitzgerald (2) and Paudie Quinn scored for Dingle.

Tralee Dynamos 2 Broadford United 6

THIS game which was scheduled for Sunday was brought forward to Mounthawk Park on Friday evening at the request of Broadford United and the Desmond League side had a comfortable win over Tralee Dynamos.

The home side held their own for a big part of the game but the visitors took their chances when they came and ran out comfortable winners at the end. Przemyslaw Skrzpczak and Skibinski Marek scored for Dynamos.

Tralee Celtic 2 Rathkeale 4

TRALEE Celtic came into this game as rank outsiders but they made the Desmond League side fight hard for their victory. When the Limerick side went 4-0 ahead Celtc looked in deep trouble but they made a good fight back in the second half with goals from Fergal Moynihn and Greg Horan but they just came up short at the end.

Castleisland w/o Shannonside

CASTLEISLAND progress to the next round without kicking a ball as their Desmod League opposition conceded a walkover. While Castleisland are glad to be through to the next round they would be happier to have got a game.
